Andy Jordan, a long-time worker in the National Cotton Council Technological Providers Division who now performs as an agricultural engineering specialist, been given the 2022 Harry S. Baker Distinguished Services Award.

Jordan was acknowledged all through the Nationwide Cotton Council’s new 2023 once-a-year conference in Dallas, Texas.

The award, named for the late California sector chief and past NCC President Harry S. Baker, is offered per year to a deserving personal who has furnished incredible support, leadership and commitment to the U.S. cotton business.

In presenting the award, outgoing NCC Chairman Ted Schneider reported Jordan served 31 years in the Council’s Specialized Providers department, first as supervisor of Marketing and advertising and Processing Technological know-how ahead of being named as that department’s director and later on its vice president.

Schneider claimed that when serving in these positions, “Dr. Jordan supplied fantastic management in running a diversity of technological difficulties influencing the industry. Significantly of his achievements resulted from his skillful route of a Council workers that involved experienced professionals in security and wellbeing environmental sciences, engineering, textile processing, plant physiology/agronomy and plant breeding.”

Jordan, who gained engineering degrees from the College of Ga and Clemson University, joined the NCC in 1976 soon after performing for Western Electric and Lockheed Georgia Aerospace and serving a former stint as an teacher at Clemson.

Through his time at the NCC, Jordan also served various decades as executive director for The Cotton Foundation in which he directed method enhancement. That included raising resources from the personal sector and the administration of Foundation exploration and instruction courses valued at much more than $1.5 million per year.

Nowadays, Jordan is an advisor to Cotton Council International, Cotton Included and the U.S. Cotton Belief Protocol, the cotton industry’s sustainability initiative. He functions with agricultural investigation researchers, conservation teams, and food and trade corporations to develop sustainability metrics for agriculture.

Jordan also at the moment serves as government director of the Cotton Growers Warehouse Association, is co-proprietor and science director for Secure Food stuff Alternatives, an advisor to AgLaunch, an agribusiness technologies accelerator, and a director for Agricenter International, a 1,000-acre agricultural study, conservation, and education and learning centre in Cordova, Tennessee.

He and his spouse, Susan, are lively in style and design and set up of drinking h2o cure systems for the underserved in five countries.
